Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending October 22, the US rotary rig count decreased by one to 542 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by one to 99, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by two to 443. The overall rig count is now up by 255 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by four to 164 rigs in the week ending October 22. The Canadian rig count is now up by 81 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
