US and Canadian rig counts decline week-on-week

Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending November 2, the US rotary rig count decreased by one to 1,067 rigs following a one-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas stayed level at 193 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by one to 874. The overall rig count is now up by 169 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by two to 198 rigs in the week ending November 2, following a nine-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by six rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
