Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending October 1, the US rotary rig count increased by seven to 528 rigs. The number of rigs drilling for gas remained level at 99, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by seven to 428. The overall rig count is now up by 262 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by three to 165 rigs in the week ending October 1. The Canadian rig count is now up by 90 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
