Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 14, the US rotary rig count increased by seven to 1,055 rigs following no change the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas stayed level at 186 while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by seven to 867. The overall rig count is now up by 119 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 22 to 226 rigs in the week ending September 14, following a 24-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 14 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
