Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 8 the US rotary rig count increased by one to 944 rigs following a three-rig increase the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas increased by four to 187 while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by three 756. The overall rig count is now up by 436 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by one to 202 rigs in the week ending September 8, following a 16-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 68 rigs from the same week a year ago.
