Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending March 27, the US rotary rig count decreased by 44 to 728 rigs following a 20-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by four to 102, while the number of rigs drilling for oil decreased by 40 to 624. The overall rig count is now down by 278 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count also decreased by 44 to 54 rigs in the week ending March 27, following a 77-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is now down by 34 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
