Ukrainian steel industry’s power and gas consumption rises in 2010

In December 2010, the Ukrainian steel industry increased its natural gas consumption by 45 million cubic meters compared to November to 495 million cubic meters, with the average daily consumption of natural gas during the month totaling 16 million cubic meters - up from 15 million cubic meters in November.

According to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in 2010 the domestic steel industry's average daily consumption of natural gas amounted to 14.2 million cubic meters.

In addition, in 2010 Ukraine's steel industry also increased its power consumption by 14 percent year on year to 38.415 billion kWh.
