Ukrainian semi-finished steel exports decline in Jan-Oct

According to the data released by metal trading enterprise Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK), in January-October of the current year Ukrainian exports of semi-finished steel products decreased by 8.3 percent year on year to 8.746 million mt.

In the January-October period of this year, Ukraine exported 4.760 million mt of steel slabs - up 2.5 percent, while exports of square billets dropped by 19.9 percent to 3.903 million mt, both compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, exports of semi-finished steel products from Ukraine increased by 4.3 percent in October compared to September, rising to 787,000 mt.

On the other hand, in January-October, Ukrainian imports of semi-finished steel products increased by 6.8 percent year on year to 408,000 mt.

In October alone, imports of semi-finished steel products to Ukraine decreased by 6.9 percent compared to September, falling to 43,000 mt.
