Ukrainian foreign trade – January 2005
According to data issued by the statistics office of
Ukraine, the country's exports totaled $2.5 billion in January 2005, a 116% increase year on year. The country sent $570 million in exports to
CIS countries, while $1.9 billion in goods went elsewhere around the globe.
Leading importers of Ukrainian goods include
Russia ($392 million, up 134% year on year),
Turkey ($203.5 million, up 149%),
Italy ($159 million, up 143%) and
Germany ($111 million, up 47.81%).
Ukraine's imports totaled $1.8 billion in the same period, a 104% increase year on year.
CIS countries exported $950.7 million worth goods to
Ukraine, while imports from elsewhere totaled $1.06 billion.
The main exporters to
Ukraine include
Russia ($700.8 million, up 95% year on year),
Turkmenistan ($200.4 million, up 104%) and
Germany ($136 million, up 101%).
The overall trade balance of the country in January 2005 represents a $681 million surplus.
