According to the official data for the first seven months of the current year, Ukrainian exports of metallurgical coke increased by 59.9 percent year on year to 1.216 million mt, worth a total of $458.23 million. In July alone, coke exports from Ukraine increased by 46 percent compared to June to 207,440 mt, and were up 26.3 percent year on year.
In the first seven months of 2011, Ukraine registered a 66 percent decrease year on year in its metallurgical coke imports to 70,000 mt, worth $27.09 million. In July alone, Ukraine's metallurgical coke imports increased by 2.9 times compared to June to 17,960 mt, and increased by 7.5 times compared to July 2010.
In addition, Ukraine's iron ore exports in January-July increased by 4.6 percent year on year to 19.444 million mt, worth a total of $2.089 billion. In July alone, Ukraine's iron ore exports decreased by 9.7 percent compared to June to 2.782 million mt, worth $312.99 million.
