According to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in May this year Ukraine's crude steel production is expected to fall by an estimated 4.2 percent compared to March this year to 2.75 million mt.
According to Metallurgprom's forecast, pig iron output in Ukraine will total 2.520 million mt in May, up 0.2 percent compared to March, while Ukrainian production of rolled steel is expected to total 2.5 million mt, down 2.3 percent compared to March.
In April, Ukrainian companies plan to produce 2.620 million mt of crude steel, 2.340 million mt of pig iron and 2.380 million mt of rolled steel.
