In the January-February period this year, the production results of Ukraine-based ferroalloys plant, Zaporozhye Ferroalloys Plant (ZZF) weakened considerably amid the adverse market environment.
In the given period, the company’s output of ferroalloys amounted to 27,590 mt, decreasing by 38.5 percent year on year. In particular, its production of silicomanganese fell by 41.4 percent year on year to 13,430 mt, while its output of ferrosilicon declined by 51.5 percent year on year to 6,940 mt. The total decrease was partly offset by the increase in production of ferromanganese, which totaled 6,800 mt, up 7.4 percent year on year, as SteelOrbis has learned.
In 2019, ZZF had increased its ferroalloy production by 1.9 percent year on year to 250,910 mt of ferroalloys, including 145,210 mt of silicomanganese and 62,560 mt of ferrosilicon.
