The Cabinet of Ministers of
Ukraine has reported that the country's
iron ore and
iron ore concentrate,
pig iron, rolled steel products, and crude steel output rose 7.4 percent, 12.2 percent, 18.2 percent and 17.5 percent respectively month on month in March 2006.
In the given period,
Ukraine's enterprises produced 5.86 million ton of
iron ore and ore concentrate, 2.73 million of
pig iron, 2.92 million of rolled steel products and 3.22 million tons of crude steel.
The output of
iron ore increased 3.7 percent to 1.28 million tons, that of
iron ore concentrate increased 8.7 percent to 4.48 million tons, that of agglomerate increased 15.6 percent to 4.03 million tons and that of pellets increased 12.2 percent to 1.58 million tons in the same period.
The
production of
pig iron rose 12.2 percent month on month to 2.73 million ton in March 2006.
Thus, Mittal Steel Krivoy Rog'
pig iron production increased 27.8 percent to 579,000 tons, Ilyich's
pig iron production increased 28.5 percent to 476,900 tons and Azovstal's
production increased 11.6 percent to 375,400 tons in the given period.
The output of steel rolled products in the country rose 18.2 percent month on month to 2.92 million ton in March 2006.
In March 2006, Ilyich raised the
production of rolled steel products by 26.5 percent to 511,100 tons, Mittal Steel Krivoy Rog raised the
production of rolled steel products by 23.2 percent to 590,000 tons and Azovstal raised the
production of rolled steel products by 17.5 percent to 417,300 tons.
The country's steel output rose 17.5 percent month on month to 3.22 million tons in March 2006.
Mittal Steel Krivoy Rog's crude steel output increased 17.8 percent to 602,000 tons, Ilyich's crude steel output increased 28.1 percent to 609,800 tons, Azovstal's crude steel output increased 16.2 percent to 445,780 tons, and
Zaporizhstal's crude steel output increased 10.7 percent to 372,200 tons in the given period.
