Ukraine’s iron ore exports worth $1.74 billion in January-August

In the January-August period of this year, Ukraine exported 25.78 million mt of iron ore, with a value of $1.74 billion, according to the data released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine. In the given period, the share of iron ore in the country’s total exports was 6.3 percent.

In terms of value, the exports mostly went to China (28.4 percent), Slovakia (11 percent) and Austria (49.5 percent).

Meanwhile, in the first eight months of the current year Ukraine imported 204,889 mt of iron ore worth a total of $21.8 million. The main supplier of iron ore to Ukraine in the given period was Russia.
