Ukraine’s crude steel output up 4.1 percent in January-September

According to Ukrmetallurgprom, in the January-September period this year Ukraine’s crude steel production increased by 4.1 percent year on year to 16.4 million mt. In the given period, the country’s finished steel output rose by 1.9 percent to 14.1 million mt, while its pig iron output increased by 1.1 percent to 15.5 million mt, both year on year.

In September, Ukraine produced 1.76 million mt of crude steel, decreasing by 9.2 percent, while its finished steel output amounted to 1.58 million mt, increasing by three percent and its pig iron output totaled 1.75 million mt, decreasing by 5.6 percent, all month on month.

Though in September steel production in Ukraine saw decreases on month-on-month basis, in the accumulative period of nine months the outlook is rather positive with increases in all segments.
