Ukraine’s crude steel and pig iron outputs decline in March

According to the preliminary data disclosed by Ukrmetallurgprom, in March this year Ukrainian steel mills produced 1.789 million mt of crude steel and 1.75 million mt of pig iron, down by 9.1 percent and 5.6 percent respectively, year on year. As for finished steel, the total output in March went down by 7.9 percent year on year to 1.56 million mt, SteelOrbis has learned.

As a result, in the first three months of the current year Ukraine’s crude steel and pig iron outputs amounted 5.342 million mt and 5.105 million mt respectively, down three percent and two percent year on year. Finished steel production rose by 3.5 percent year on year to 4.7 million mt.
