Ukraine semi-finished steel exports down 15.8 percent in 2014

According to the data released by Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in 2014 Ukraine exported 9.16 million mt of semi-finished steel products, down 15.8 percent compared to 2013, worth a total of $4.34 billion, down 17.2 percent year on year.

The exports mostly went to Egypt (22.21 percent), Italy (18.64 percent) and Turkey (18.45 percent).

In 2014, Ukraine imported 53,040 mt of semi-finished steel products, down 10.2 percent year on year, worth a total of $26.41 million mt, down 27.7 percent year on year. The main supplier of semi-finished steel imports in 2014, despite its support of separatists in eastern Ukraine, was Russia, which supplied 99.98 percent of the total import volume.
