Ukraine rejects proposed iron ore export duty

Certain deputies in the Ukrainian parliament submitted a proposal for a duty of €20-30 per ton to be implemented on all iron ore exports following the 30-40% rise in the prices of subject raw material used in steelmaking. The Ukrainian parliament rejected the deputies' motion. A majority of the deputies reportedly even refused to vote on the proposal, which was discussed last week.
