The Ukrainian Ministry of Industrial Policy has asked the country's cabinet of ministers to temporarily suspend duty-free scrap exports to Macedonia.
Commenting on the issue, ministry officials stated that duty-free scrap exports to Macedonia should be suspended to avoid the re-export of Ukrainian scrap by the Macedonians.
Currently all scrap exports from Ukraine are subject to €30 per metric ton export duty. However, the current export duty will be gradually lowered with the Ukrainian accession to the World Trade Organization.
