Turkish wire rod exports up 5.56 percent in Jan-Feb

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 19.63 percent year on year to 92,105 metric tons, down 20.54 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $54.77 million, up 15.86 percent year on year and decreasing by 21.13 percent month on month. In the given month, the average price of Turkey's wire rod exports stood at $594.70/mt, decreasing 4.51/mt month on month, and down from the average of $614.07/mt recorded in the same month of 2013.

Meanwhile, in the first two months of this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 5.56 percent to 208,427 metric tons, while the value of these exports amounted to $124.11 million, up 3.80 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
 
In the first two months of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports to Israel rose by 105.46 percent to 54,163 metric tons, ahead of Morocco, which received 29,740 metric tons, both on year-on-year basis. Morocco was followed by Libya, which imported 23,703 metric tons of wire rod from Turkey in the given period, up 45.82 percent year on year. On the other hand, in February of the current year Turkey's top wire rod export destination was Morocco, which received a total of 19,750 metric tons.
