According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 17.68 percent year on year to 60,858 metric tons, down 32.42 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $36.85 million, down 15.07 percent year on year and decreasing by 31.78 percent month on month. In the given month, the average price of Turkey's wire rod exports stood at $605.56/mt, increasing by $5.63/mt month on month and up from the average of $587.01/mt recorded in the same month of 2013.
Meanwhile, in the January-July period of this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 3.86 percent to 610,931 metric tons, while the value of these exports amounted to $363.76 million, up 2.28 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first seven months, Turkey's wire rod exports to Israel rose by 53.66 percent year on year to 125,868 metric tons, ahead of the US, which received 87,082 metric tons of wire rod from Turkey, up 159.29 percent compared with the same period of the previous year. The US was followed by Libya, which imported 62,757 metric tons of wire rod from Turkey in the given period, down 21.95 percent year on year. In July alone, Turkey's top wire rod export destination was the US, which received a total of 35,730 metric tons.
