Turkish steelmaker Kroman to revamp wire rod mill

UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies has announced that it will revamp the wire rod mill of Turkish steel producer Kroman Çelik to improve product quality, as the steelmaker aims for new markets.
 
The new equipment, which is expected be commissioned by the end of this summer, will enable a rolling speed of 110 meters per second. The wire rod mill was built in 2008.
 
Turkey-based Kroman operates with two steel melting shops, two wire rod mills, a profile and a bar rolling mill, while it produces more than 1.3 million mt of crude steel annually.
