Turkish PPGI imports up 92.7 percent in January-April

In April, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 6,971 mt, falling by 25.7 percent compared to the previous month and up 48 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports totaled $4.8 million, rising by 6.4 percent year on year and down 27.3 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
 
In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports increased by 92.7 percent to 33,123 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $22.6 million, up 38.4 percent, both year on year.
 
In the given period, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 20,661 metric tons, up 129.34 percent year on year. China was followed by Italy and Belgium, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 6,024 metric tons and 2,471 metric tons respectively.
