Turkish PPGI imports up 78 percent in January-October

In October, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 4,735 mt, up by 23.3 percent year on year and falling 41.8 percent compared to September, while the revenue from these imports decreased by 46.6 percent month on month to $3.36 million, falling by 6.5 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
 
In the first ten months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports increased by 78 percent to 80,811 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $56.9 million, up 38.8 percent, both year on year.
 
In the given period, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 54,196 metric tons, up 111.46 percent year on year. China was followed by Italy and Belgium, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 10,832 metric tons and 5,357 metric tons respectively.
