In February this year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports increased by 13.77 percent year on year to 2,833 mt, while the revenue from these imports rose by 64.4 percent year on year to $3.83 million, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first two months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports remained stable at 4,709 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $6.5 million, up 51 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Italy ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 1,149 metric tons, up 18.21 percent year on year. Italy was followed by Belgium and South Korea, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 893 metric tons and 805 metric tons respectively.
