Turkish PPGI imports down 65.1 percent in January-November

In November last year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports decreased by 25.6 percent month on month to 2,319 mt, down by 30.5 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports decreased by 22.22 percent month on month to $2.8 million, up 2.7 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

In the January-November period of 2017, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 65.1 percent to 29,341 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $32.1 million, down 46.2 percent, both year on year.

In the given period, Italy ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 6,281 metric tons, down 44.6 percent year on year. Belgium was followed by Belgium and China, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 6,231 metric tons and 4,690 metric tons respectively.
