In November this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sales totaled 59,495 units, decreasing by 42.7 percent year on year, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the same month, Turkey's passenger car sales totaled 46,204 units, down 39.2 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the January-November period of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sales amounted to 561,639 units, decreasing by 33.6 percent on year-on-year basis.
In the first eleven months of the current year, Turkey's motor vehicle exports totaled 1,219.174 units, down 0.4 percent, while passenger car exports decreased by five percent to 810,054 units, both year on year. In the same period, the country exported 345,256 small trucks, up 9.2 percent year on year. In the period in question, revenues from total motor vehicle and component exports increased by 11.9 percent to $29.72 billion, while the revenues from passenger car exports totaled $11.42 billion, rising by 5.8 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In November, Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 39,083 units, decreasing by 41.7 percent year on year, while passenger car imports totaled 31,804 units, down 42.6 percent, year on year. In the January-November period of this year, the country's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 349,968, falling by 35.2 percent, while passenger car imports totaled 284,383 units, declining by 35.1 percent, both compared to the same period of 2017.
