Turkish motor vehicle output up 3.6 percent in January-February

In February this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 127,882 units, increasing by seven percent year on year and up 16.5 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-February period of the year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 237,665 units, up 3.6 percent year on year.

In February, passenger car output amounted to 87,589 units, rising by 9.4 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 40,293 units, up 2.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-February period of the current year, passenger car output totaled 162,985 units, increasing by 7.6 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 74,680 units, decreasing by 4.1 percent, both compared to 2019.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 76.3 percent in February, while the rate was 70.9 percent for the first two months of the year.
