In February this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 141,372 units, increasing by two percent year on year and up 13.7 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-February period of the current year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 265,719 units, remaining stable year on year.
In February alone, passenger car output amounted to 94,113 units, falling by three percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 47,259 units, up 15 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-February period of 2018, passenger car output totaled 179,481 units, down six percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 86,238 units, up 14 percent, both compared to the same period of 2017.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 86 percent in February this year, while the rate was 81 percent in the January-February period of the year.
