Turkish motor vehicle output down 9.4 percent in January-September

In September this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 136,236 units, increasing by 2.5 percent year on year, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-September period of the year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1,057,384 units, down 9.4 percent year on year.

In September, passenger car output amounted to 90,359 units, rising by 4.6 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 45,877 units, down 1.4 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-September period of the current year, passenger car output totaled 700,581 units, declining by nine percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 356,803 units, decreasing by 10.3 percent, both compared to the same period of 2018.
