Turkish motor vehicle output down 7.1 percent in January-November

In November this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 135,951 units, increasing by 5.4 percent year on year and up by 2.8 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the first 11 months of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1,325,490 units, down 7.1 percent year on year.

In November alone, passenger car output amounted to 93,495 units, rising by 9.1 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 42,456 units, down 1.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-November period of this year, passenger car output totaled 887,651 units, declining by six percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 437,839 units, decreasing by 9.3 percent, both compared to the same period of 2018.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 79.5 percent in November this year, while the rate was 70.2 percent in the January-November period of the year.
