Turkish metal producers’ sales prices stable in July

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 0.99 percent over June and was up 6.6 percent year on year, while an average rise of 3.23 percent was registered for the latest twelve months.

In July, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry rose by 2.2 percent month on month and was almost stable with just a slight decrease of 0.03 percent compared to July 2012. Meanwhile, the average change in the PPI for the latest twelve months was -7.06 percent.

On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, rose 0.4 percent compared to the previous month and was up 1.2 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average decrease of 1.67 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest twelve months.
