Turkish metal producers’ sales prices down 1.3% in Oct from Sept

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 0.2 percent over September and was up 2.6 percent year on year, while an average rise of 7.8 percent was registered for the latest twelve months.

In October, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry fell by 1.3 percent month on month and was down 10.6 percent compared to October 2011. Meanwhile, the average increase in the latest twelve months was 4.5 percent.

On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, fell 0.1 percent compared to the previous month and was down three percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 5.65 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest twelve months.
