Turkish metal industry employers announce lockout

According to the Turkish Metal Union, the Turkish Employers' Association of Metal Industries (MESS) has announced a lockout as of May 22, in response to the union's strike decision announced on May 6 after negotiations on a collective labor agreement remained unresolved.

The metal union's strike decision involved 115,000 workers in the metal industry including automotive, white goods, iron and steel and electronics.
