Turkish HRC import volume up 12.4 percent in January-February

In February this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports increased by 3.14 percent year on year to 274,407 metric tons, down 26.3 percent compared to January, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $158.1 million, falling by 24.8 percent month on month and up 20.9 percent year on year.

In the January-February period of the current year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 646,665 mt, up 12.4 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 35.7 percent to $368.4 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 231,392 mt, down 34.8 percent year on year, followed by Ukraine which shipped 111,084 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
