Turkish HRC import volume down 11.7 percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports decreased by 40 percent year on year to 230,525 metric tons, down 29.5 percent compared to September, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $143.5 million, falling by 28.2 percent month on month and down 29 percent year on year.

In the first ten months of the current year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 3.09 million mt, down 11.7 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 7.7 percent to $1.88 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 1,388,326 mt, down 23.77 percent year on year, followed by Ukraine which shipped 436,053 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
