Turkish home appliance imports up 48.5 percent in April

Domestic sales in Turkey's home appliance market expanded by 12,8 percent on year-on-year basis in January this year, totaling 557,181 units, according to the data released by the Turkish Home Appliance Industrialists Association (BESD). The country's home appliance sales in April decreased 1.7 percent compared to March 2013.

According to the BESD's data, in April home appliance output in Turkey increased by 5.6 percent year on year to 1,870,118 units. In April this year, Turkey's home appliance exports were down 3.4 percent to the same month of the previous year, amounting to 1,226,193 units, while Turkey's domestic appliance imports in April totaled 103,936 units, up 48,5 compared to April 2012.
