Turkey’s wire rod exports down 39.8 percent in January-April

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 64.4 percent year on year to 57,099 metric tons, down 37.6 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $25.52 million, down 38.9 percent month on month and decreasing by 68.6 percent compared to the same month of 2019.

Meanwhile, in the January-April period of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 381,268 metric tons, down 39.8 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these exports totaled $174.94 million, decreasing by 45.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 84,801 metric tons. Israel was followed by Haiti with 34,612 metric tons and Singapore with 31,802 metric tons.
