Turkey’s wire rod exports up 9.5 percent in January-May

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 28.2 percent year on year to 164,870 metric tons, up 21.2 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $100.5 million, up 22.4 percent month on month and rising by 70 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the January-May period of the current year, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 9.5 percent to 732,634 mt, while the revenue from these exports went up by 45.3 percent to $432 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Belgium which received 161,405 metric tons. Belgium was followed by Israel with 135,036 metric tons and the Netherlands with 74,979 metric tons.
