Turkey’s wire rod exports up 83 percent in January-February

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 61.9 percent year on year to 126,414 metric tons, down 15 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $56.1 million, down 13.6 percent month on month and rising by 114.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.


 
In the January-February period, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 83 percent to 274,627 mt, while the revenue from these exports increased by 137.5 percent to $120.9 million, both year on year
 
In the first two months of the current year, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 42,973 metric tons. Israel was followed by the US with 42,330 metric tons and Portugal with 20,378 metric tons.
