Turkey’s wire rod exports up 78.5 percent in January-May

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 25.4 percent year on year to 128,579 metric tons, up 3.3 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $59.11 million, up five percent month on month and rising by 35 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first five months, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 78.5 percent to 669,311 mt, while the revenue from these exports increased by 114.5 percent to $297.3 million, both year on year.
 
In the first five months of the current year, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was the US which received 100,146 metric tons. The US was followed by Israel with 96,252 metric tons and Singapore with 48,395 metric tons.
