Turkey’s wire rod exports up 5.9 percent in January-April

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 9.3 percent year on year to 136,033 metric tons, down 26.1 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $82.10 million, up 45.7 percent month on month and decreasing by 23.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the January-April period of the current year, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 5.9 percent to 572,093 mt, while the revenue from these exports rose by 40.4 percent to $334.14 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Belgium which received 120,155 metric tons. Belgium was followed by Israel with 115,135 metric tons and the Netherlands with 54,938 metric tons.
