Turkey’s wire rod exports up 35.3 percent in 2018

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December last year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 49.77 percent year on year to 248,377 metric tons, up 34.6 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $132.1 million, up 32.1 percent month on month and rising by 45.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Last year, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 35.3 percent to 1.84 million mt, while the revenue from these exports went up by 60 percent to $1.05 billion, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 364,409 metric tons. Israel was followed by Belgium with 315,830 metric tons and the Netherlands with 220,497 metric tons.
