According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 159.7 percent year on year to 188,932 metric tons, up 43.5 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $107.9 million, up 41.1 percent month on month and rising by 185.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 28.2 percent to 1.22 million mt, while the revenue from these exports went up by 66.4 percent to $718.5 million, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Belgium which received 236,503 metric tons. Belgium was followed by Israel with 222,696 metric tons and the Netherlands with 141,961 metric tons.
