Turkey’s wire rod exports up 22.5 percent in January-February

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 24.7 percent year on year to 140,030 metric tons, down 17.9 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $69.42 million, down 21.5 percent month on month and rising by 5.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in the first two months of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 310,686 metric tons, up 22.5 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these exports totaled $145.27 million, increasing by 8.7 percent compared to same period of 2018.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 76,400 metric tons. Israel was followed by the Netherlands with 52,136 metric tons and Haiti with 21,700 metric tons.
