Turkey’s wire rod exports up 20.8 percent in January-September

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 16 percent year on year to 149,860 metric tons, up 5.7 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $74.57 million, up 5.1 percent month on month and decreasing by 27 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in the January-September period of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 1.47 million metric tons, up 20.8 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these exports totaled $745 million, increasing by 4.5 percent compared to same period of 2018.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 326,183 metric tons. Israel was followed by the Netherlands with 103,213 metric tons and Singapore with 95,367 metric tons.
