Turkey’s wire rod exports up 17.5 percent in January-August

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 46.3 percent year on year to 131,685 metric tons, up 26.1 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $76.5 million, up 24.5 percent month on month and rising by 6.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first eight months of the current year, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 17.8 percent to 1.04 million mt, while the revenue from these exports went up by 54.6 percent to $610 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Belgium which received 203,446 metric tons. Belgium was followed by Israel with 187,307 metric tons and the Netherlands with 120,931 metric tons.
