Turkey’s wire rod exports up 13.4 percent in January-October

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 33.8 percent year on year to 125,988 metric tons, down 16 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $58.9 million, down 21.1 percent month on month and decreasing by 43.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

Meanwhile, in the January-October period of this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 1.59 million metric tons, up 13.4 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these exports totaled $804 million, decreasing by 1.7 percent compared to same period of 2018.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 356,255 metric tons. Israel was followed by the Netherlands with 128,241 metric tons and Singapore with 98,103 metric tons.
