Turkey’s wire rod exports down 7.5 percent in January-February

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 10.2 percent year on year to 113,541 metric tons, down 20.25 percent compared to the previous month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $66.7 million, down 16.4 percent month on month and up 18.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the first two months of the current year, Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 7.5 percent to 254,068 mt, while the revenue from these exports increased by 20.4 percent to $145.6 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Israel which received 90,024 metric tons. Israel was followed by the Netherlands with 25,098 metric tons and Singapore with 19,303 metric tons.
