Turkey’s Tosyalı Holding will locally produce steel pipes for natural gas and crude oil transportation projects in Turkey, according to Turkish daily Dunya. Needs for these products in Turkey are currently met through imports. Tosyalı Holding will break ground in the coming days and start producing longitudinal submerged arc-welded (LSAW) in 2017.
The investment will be made by Tosçelik Spiral Boru Üretim Sanayi AŞ and once completed Tosyalı will produce 60 inch and 40 mm thick longitudinal submerged arc-welded pipes. Interviewed by Dunya, Tosyalı Holding chairman Fuat Tosyalı said that this new investment will eliminate Turkey’s dependency on imports experienced in projects such as the Trans-Anatolian pipeline project (TANAP).
Tosyalı Holding expects 10 million mt of steel production for 2020, including its overseas plants.
